Ingenious tips for stain removal during home cleaning
No matter how difficult it is to admit, but we all agree that even the most spotless of houses witnesses common occurrences of stains. Effective house and home cleaning requires us to get rid of these stubborn stains for a flawless appearance. Here is a list of home cleaning solutions that can help you to tackle tough stains in your homes:
Cat or dog urine stains
The peculiar thing about pet urine is the smell that accompanies the stain. You need to be quick and treat this stain immediately. Scrub it with a solution of 1 tablespoon ammonia in ½ cup warm water and rinse well. If the urine is more alkaline, sponge with a solution that has equal parts vinegar and warm water. This home cleaning remedy is effective when paired with a quick execution.
Chocolate stains
First, allow the chocolate to harden so that it can be scraped off. Mix 3–5 drops of laundry detergent in 3 cups of water and blot the stain. This needs to be followed by a rinse of clean water. Alternatively, you can also cover the stain with paper towels and gently iron the area. The heat from the iron helps to draw the stain up into the paper towels.
Coffee and tea stains
On an immediate basis, pouring cold water on the back of the stain will remove it. If in case any remnants remain, try bleaching it in the sun. If this doesn’t work, mix 1/3 cup white vinegar with 2/3 cups lukewarm water and sponge the area with a clean cloth.
Grease stains
Cover the grease spot with a liquid dishwashing detergent. Sprinkle cool water on it and scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse the area thoroughly with water or vinegar to remove all the detergent. You can also wet a clean cloth with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and rub the stain from the outside in.
Hair dye stains
Spray some hairspray instantly to loosen the stain. Apply a little laundry detergent and gently scrub the stain with a toothbrush. Finally rinse thoroughly.
