If there is something to look forward to this February, apart from Valentine’s day, it is Samsung’s Galaxy UNPACKED event scheduled on the 11th in San Francisco. The tech giant did well last year in terms of sales, and major credit should be attributed to the Galaxy series, particularly the Note 10. The market is already booming with tech goliaths like Apple who are gearing up to introduce 5G iPhones. In response, the world’s largest cellphone seller by volume is all set to make a fierce comeback with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung Galaxy S11/S20
The major buzz on the rumor mill over the past couple of weeks is Samsung’s latest flagship series. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the name, as it could be called the Galaxy S11, following the previous S10 release. However, many say the phone might be renamed as the S20 to represent the current year (2020). It does seem like a pretty good idea to start the new year with a new flagship name.

The launch features three amazing variants of the S20 series, namely Galaxy S20 5G (rumored to be the base variant), Galaxy S20 Plus 5G, and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Let us take a quick pass at the hardware and software to understand what you can expect from them.

The Galaxy S20 series is rumored to have a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, running 12 gigs of RAM. The front camera notch is placed with a single 10-megapixel center notch rather than the side selfie, as seen in the Galaxy S10. Four rear notches, all tucked away in the top left corner, offer main, telephoto, ultrawide, and time-of-flight sensors to give you a stunning shot. To back it all up, you get a 4000 mAh battery.

The camera, RAM, processor, and internal storage specifications remain the same for the Galaxy S20 Plus 5G. Major changes include a bigger 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a high capacity 4500 mAh battery.

The Galaxy S20 5G Ultra, on the other hand, stands out from the standard and Plus variants. You get a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, which is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The phone does run the latest Qualcomm 865 SnapDragon processor and boasts a RAM of 12GB and 16GB and an internal memory storage of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold, which opened up as a full-screen tablet. The phone received mixed reactions from experts and users. However, with Motorola Razr flip already available in the market, the Galaxy Z Flip could turn out to be a worthy opponent. While it is a difficult task to surmise all the cool features the Z Flip has to offer, we’ll give you a fair idea about what to expect from the phone, codenamed “Galaxy Bloom.”

Flip phones were surely a craze back then, and they seem to be generating an equal amount of interest even today. It is one of the first few smartphones to introduce a revolutionary ultra-thin glass screen that folds in half — perfectly might we add. Samsung Watch, Buds+, and smart home devices
The tech giant may also reveal the successor of the Galaxy Buds. The Buds+ are rumored to offers an enhanced audio experience with better battery life. While there are unconfirmed reports of a new smartwatch (probably the Galaxy Watch 2), it is safe to say that this device may still be in the early development stages.

In any case, the smartwatch does not seem to be on the main agenda for Galaxy UNPACKED. In 2019, Samsung did not introduce a smart home device to compete with the likes of Echo and Google Home. However, extensive product R&D alternatively does suggest a reveal sometime in 2020.
